April 2, 2023April 1, 2023 ~ Autistic Writer ~ Leave a comment

Hello, and welcome back to The Autistic Writer. I hope things are going well for you. Something has gone well for me: A little reminder popped up on my phone. Have a look... Why have I been recording how long since I last had a drink? Am I an alcoholic? You decide... I have some … Continue reading Part 131: Fear And Loathing

Part 105: Catching Up

September 18, 2022 ~ Autistic Writer ~ 1 Comment

Hello, and welcome back to The Autistic Writer. It's good to have you back. I'll come to the pirate stuff shortly, but first... As I write this (Friday evening), I'm feeling somewhat off-colour, and it's because of something close to the collective heart of the autistic community... vaccines! Yes, on Thursday I had my covid … Continue reading Part 105: Catching Up

There were fireworks in my area, but I just watched TV with the sound coming through noise-cancelling headphones so I missed the worst of it. Fortunately, I didn't get too … Continue reading Part 72: The Eve of Destruction

Along this journey, as my understanding of autism issues has developed, I have changed my mind about some things, and tweaked my opinions on others. This is a natural part of learning and growing as a human being. Any contradictions between my older blog posts and newer blog posts reflect this learning process.

I cannot and do not claim to speak for all autistic people. There are many of us, and sometimes we disagree. That's okay. I welcome debate on the points I raise. For most, if not all, of the issues I discuss on my blog, my opinion is generally in line with the overwhelming majority of views in the autistic community. But ultimately, unless I'm quoting undeniable objective facts, this blog is my opinion.
